When eating out on Alston Moor, the Overwater Lodge restaurant should be
your choice of venue for an all round excellent dining experience.
The Overwater Lodge restaurant is situated in the village of Nenthead on Alston
Moor, an area of outstanding natural beauty. Nestled next to the River Nent
in the Pennines, Nenthead is on the A689 Brampton to Durham road, between
the market town of Alston and the Killhope lead mining museum.
The village is less than an hour's drive from Penrith, Hexham, Carlisle or
Newcastle. It is in the centre of major attractions such as Hadrian's Wall
and the Lake District.
However, as this delightful restaurant lies in a secondary
position, it is
all too easy to pass by, and this would mean missing an opportunity to savour
the cullinary delights we have on offer! When reaching the Nenthead village
post office turn right for about 200 metres.
